I’ve seen Corporate America make promises to friends that if they got their degree, they would get ___. In reality nothing happened, not even a pay raise. Why is it that labor classifications state degree or equivalent experience but the equivalent experience is never factored into the decision making process? How many really dedicated, excellent performers have been held back in climbing the corporate ladder because they didn’t have a degree. Is this foolishness on the part of the business (checking the box mentality) or is there a good business reason why a degree is essential to perform the job?
Is it worth spending less time with family to pursue a degree? What about what God says about man’s wisdom versus Godly wisdom especially in Proverbs? What has been your experience?
It seems America has more workers with degree’s but less common sense in business. Why are there folks with Master Degrees working in Target or some other retail shops? Just remember, in business, it’s all about relationships. If they know and trust you, they’ll want to do business with you.
Your thoughts?
